How I Made $7295.21 On Amazon KDP With 10 Books In July
July was a great month for my books on Amazon.
I had many consistent high-selling days and I didn’t have to spend much time on the business.
Books that I created many months ago continue to keep selling and all I have to do is monitor the ads.
It does take a lot of upfront work however I’m now seeing the benefits of staying consistent with Amazon KDP for 4 years.
Here’s how July went:
I made $7295.21 with 10 books in July.
This isn’t my full portfolio of books but it shows you what’s possible with a small amount of quality books.
My biggest day of the month was 17th July when I made $478.02, a large part of this was Prime Day which gave my books a big push.
However, I was more excited looking at my lowest day of the month was July 20th when I made $141.52!! I find this amazing to think I made this amount on my lowest day.
I didn’t create any books during July but next month I’ll start working towards a few books for Q4.
My best selling books of the month include an activity book, a log book and a quiz book.
I noticed that summer, travel and books aimed towards kids performed well during these months due to many kids being off school for the summer break.
My total orders for July with 10 books came to 1952. Dividing the royalties by the orders works out to $3.74 royalties per book.
I charge higher for my books I know I am creating high-quality books that will stand out from the rest. I price my books competitively at the start and once they build up reviews and have a favourable position on the first page, I then price them higher than the others.
Expenses
I run ads in both the UK and US market and across the markets I spent $1816.02 although this amount is from all my books.
My ACOS in the US was 37.82% whilst in the UK it was 29.91%.
My other expenses include tools and software I use in my business such as BookBeam, Midjourney, Canva and a few others come to $70.
Final Breakdown
From 10 selected books I made $7295.21 minus.
Ads: $1816.02 (all my books)
Tools: $70
Total: $5409.19
I’m grateful to earn this amount, it has not happened overnight but it’s come as a result of consistency over years.
Anyone can start this business but you need to focus on being persistent and improving 1% each day, the results will eventually compound.
